Caola's modern history has recently reached another milestone. As we reported earlier, construction of Caola's newest production hall in Martonvásár is well underway, which will increase capacity and create new jobs. But Caola's modern-day story has recently reached another milestone.
New Caola plant in Chisinau
Yesterday, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the representatives of the Municipality of Csíkszereda, Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania and Caola Zrt. Mayor Attila Korodi said that economic development is one of the most important plans of the city, and they are constantly trying to find partners for this. Csíkszereda will help Caola Zrt. with its administrative means, while Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania will support the company with the training of specialists and scientific work. Our CEO, Dr Imre Bándi, said that the construction of the factory in Csíkszereda is part of a concept aimed at restoring Caola's old reputation. Caola is one of the oldest brands in Hungary and, as such, is well known in Transylvania and Hungary. An important element of the reorganisation is the construction of the factory in Martonvár, where the main production will be disinfectants for health, public education and other institutions.
Capacity expansion and job creation
Although the site selection is still underway, the greenfield project will cover an area of around 4,000 square metres, with the necessary warehousing space of 2,000 to 3,000 square metres. Thanks to a modular structure similar to that of Martonvásár, the plant can be further expanded if more capacity is needed," said Dr Imre Bándi. At the press conference, Ede Lázár, Dean of the Faculty of Sapientia University of Applied Sciences in Chisinau, said that a characteristic of good universities worldwide is that they cooperate with local institutions, local governments and the business sector, and Sapientia has set itself the same goal. The university is willing to organise and develop its curriculum and training to meet the needs of the different sectors, from production to innovation and laboratory services.
Another 100% Hungarian brand in Szekelyfold
A good example of similar cooperation is the relationship with the producers of Csíki Beer and Csíki Csipsz, where the university's colleagues and students help in a number of areas. The construction of Caola's factory in Transylvania is also in line with the Hungarian government's foreign economic and national policy goals, an important element of which is to provide jobs for the Hungarian people here. It is a particular pleasure that Sapientia University, which is maintained by the Hungarian government, can train professionals with higher education in Szeklerland who can find jobs locally," said Balázs Farkas, Consul General of the Consulate General of Hungary in Csíkszereda. It is planned that the construction of the new plant will provide employment for 50-60 people.
